Did you know that picking up after your dog can help prevent nutrient pollution from entering Biscayne Bay? This is the event you didn’t know you needed. Learn about the environmental impacts of pet waste and about how you can help save the bay from harmful pollution, at this City of Miami Beach event, all while sustainably celebrating our furry friends and meeting Animal Lovers Rescue’s pets in need of furever homes!
This event will feature a live band, a doggy clothing swap (pup costumes are HIGHLY encouraged, and remember to bring your pup’s old outfits to swap out for something new!), a dog toy upcycling station, dogs up for adoption from Animal Lovers Rescue, a dog treat cookie cutting and decoration table, and puppy themed drinks for those 21+. We will also kick off the event with inspiring talks from Miami Beach City Manager Alina Hudak and Florida Sea Grant’s Miami-Dade County Extension Agent Ana Zangroniz all about what is being done to support Biscayne Bay and how you can get involved.
Upon arrival, make sure to head straight to the City of Miami Beach’s booth to take the We <3 Biscayne Bay Pledge and get your drink ticket for one free Community Spirit Vodka pup-tail! Afterwards, explore all of our amazing booths to learn more about zero waste lifestyles for you and your pups, plastic pollution in our community, and ways to be more sustainable! You might even take home a new best friend from Animal Lovers Rescue 🙂 We will wrap the event up with a doggy fashion show featuring your pup’s new looks and upcycled toys!
Thank you so much to our partners in this event: The City of Miami Beach, Pangea Kali Virga and ReCreate (doggie clothing swap), the Full Edit (dog toy upcycling), Doggie Bakery Miami (dog treat decoration), The Rounds (zero waste delivery service and dog treats), Florida Sea Grant, the band StillBlue, and The Community Spirit Vodka!
