Microplastics Beach Cleanup

Come participate in the International Plastic Pellet Count by cleaning up Historic Virginia Key Beach Park!

Come participate in the International Plastic Pellet Count with United by Blue, Debris Free OceansMiami Waterkeeper, and GreenFi.

The International Plastic Pellet Count is a chance for individuals and organizations across the United States, and beyond, to go to their local waterways, look for plastic pellet pollution, and record what they find, so we can all have a better understanding of where this pollution is happening and make the case for action.

All cleanup gear (gloves, pickers, & trash bags) will be provided, but feel free to bring your own gloves if preferred. Please wear comfortable clothing and closed-toed shoes, and don’t forget sun protection and rain gear (just in case! ☔️). Lastly, be sure to bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated. 💧A water cooler will be available for refills.

Volunteer and join our cleanup crew for a chance to win United by Blue backpacks, bottles, and apparel made out of recycled plastic. We will celebrate our work with free snacks and drinks after the cleanup. Environmental non-profits and government agencies from the Miami area will be tabling to show how you can get more involved in their amazing efforts.
