124 lbs of marine debris removed from Historic Virginia Key Beach Park

& volunteers learned about microplastics + the important balloon bill developments in FL!

Thank you to the ~70 beautiful souls (dogs and humans!) who came out to Historic Virginia Key Beach Park on Saturday, March 11th! First, we flowed, then we cleaned! Much of the debris we collected was in the form of microplastics.

We discussed how important it is to ditch single-use items for reusable ones. Friends, families, and colleagues who joined the cleanup discussed how they can make these swaps in their daily lives, from investing in reusable cutlery sets to refusing plastic grocery bags and takeout utensils. These convos came from a place of inspiration and motivation, rather than judgment!

For some, this was their first cleanup as well as their first yoga experience. We welcome those from all backgrounds and experiences to join our efforts– we all start somewhere.
