Huge thanks to all who came out to celebrate Halloween with a purpose with us on Saturday! We removed over 140 lbs of trash from the coastline of Virginia Key with 40+ volunteers.
Thanks to our wonderful partners, our volunteers were rewarded with kegs of Wynwood Brewing Co.’s La Rubia, Veza Sur Brewing Co.’s Southcoast IPA, and Radiate Kombucha’s pollinator kombucha! Participants brought their own reusable cups for beverages, so we avoided 240+ plastic cups from being used and thrown out.
We also had a clothing swap on site, so volunteers could bring their old Halloween costumes to exchange for new. This made for some great cleanup get-ups!
