& 70 plastic cups/beer cans prevented from being used and disposed of!
Thank you to all 30 volunteers who came out to our Island Cleanup & Mermaid Snorkel Party with BJM Rentals, International SeaKeepers Society, Afro Mermaid, and Greg the Garbage Man!
We picked up 183 lbs of trash from Morningside Island, and then celebrated our accomplishment with a Party with a Purpose. We enjoyed zero-waste brews in reusable cups- thank you to BJM Rentals for providing a keg of the local favorite, Wynwood Brewing Company’s La Rubia! We also jumped on a water trampoline, paddleboarded, chilled on pool floats, and snorkeled with the mermaids of Afro Mermaid. Thank you to Afro Mermaid for highlighting diversity and representation in ocean recreation and marine conservation.
